Gotta Catch It All: Photo and Video Policy

JoCo Cruise imposes no restrictions on where and when its cruisers may capture light photons and audio waves, and generally encourages you to do so, as well as share those images and recordings with others (including over social media). JoCo Cruise operates under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Sharealike license. That said, five things:

At times, Holland America’s photo and video policies may be different from that of JoCo Cruise. If there’s a conflict, we must and will defer to the Oosterdam’s policy.

Please be mindful and respectful of others when recording, and respect the JoCo Cruise Code of Conduct at all times. Please don’t block someone else’s view with your gear or self; and ask permission before photographing or recording someone. Not everyone may wish to be photographed/filmed.

Some performers may request their performances not be recorded, or indicate that they may be recorded but not publicly reposted. In such cases we ask that everyone respect those requests. We’ll do our best to get word out in advance regarding performers’ preferences.

In addition to the ship’s photographers, you’ll likely encounter the ShutterMonkey(Δ)s taking pictures throughout the week. Their primary mission is to document the cruise for the public, and for JoCo Cruise’s general documentary and promotional purposes, but if for any reason you don’t want to be photographed by them, it’s cool—just let them know.

We also will have a crew aboard to make a video about JoCo Cruise. Same deal as with the ShutterMonkey(Δ)s—if for any reason you don’t want to be filmed by them, it’s cool—just let them know.
